small sound of ringing as I open Open_office

Dear people,
lately as I open Open Office I hear a ringing sound and nothing respsponds
anymore.
Sometimes when I go n, A field with a menu apears, where I did ot ask for
and again I cann not do anything. It just refuses any action.
When I tranfer a doc. to PDF I annot open it anymre, A fiels apears with
filteroptions.
( Options are among others'Western Europe....)
It is boring and very annoying.
Hope anyone can help me.
