Tomcat+Apache and AJP Version 2.3

Does anyone know what happened to "ajp23" adapter module in the Tomcat
distribution?  I see some old references to it but I can't seem to find it
in the latest CVS distribution.

I'm trying to integrate Apache (1.3) and Tomcat into a high-performance
server configuration and I think I need the socket-reuse functions
advertised in that version.
