[Bug 5144] New: DeleteAllMailMarkedAsSpam cannot be reversed

http://issues.apache.org/SpamAssassin/show_bug.cgi?id=5144

           Summary: DeleteAllMailMarkedAsSpam cannot be reversed
           Product: Spamassassin
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P4
         Component: Rules
        AssignedTo: dev@spamassassin.apache.org
        ReportedBy: luke@creedmoornc.com

User clicked option to delete all messages marked as SPAM ("To simply have the
server DELETE and NOT deliver emails that are tagged as spam by SpamAssassin,
click here now." Changed his mind. Could not reverse decision, even by
deleting all contents of .spamassassin and the root file .filter and .spamkey.
Host administrator (prioritycolo.com) tried to but unable to help.

I have spoken volumes to the hosting provider. The option to delete all mails
marked as spam is contained in the file spam.html, which I understand is part of
spamassassin. This option is referenced in the spamassassin FAQ
(http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/DeletingAllMailsMarkedSpam) as something
that probably should not be done.

Note that multiple passes at disabling and re-enabling Spamassassin after the
deleting the filter that "addspamfilter.html" (called by spam.html) created have
been fruitless.

SpamAssassin doesn't delete mails, nor is it involved in mail delivery. It
simply marks up messages that are given to it. I'd talk to the hosting provider
about how they have their system setup.

That's what we're telling you -- you're wrong -- it's not ;) you need to find
out what it *actually* is part of.
