Logo ?

I'd like to get some thoughts about whether we adopt a logo for Ant for the
1.4 release? I think that might be a good idea.

I'm with Peter here, if it doesn't delay the release, I'm fine with
introducing the logo at the same time.

If it doesn't slow down the release then +1. The way Ant2 is going (or not as
the case may be) we are going to need at least an ant1.5 and probably an
ant1.6 so we can always add it in then ;)

Cheers,

Pete

Yahoo Groups (http://groups.yahoo.com) has Poll feature for any groups
there. We could set up an Ant-Logo group there and have folks subscribe
and vote that way. I'm not sure if it'll allow as many options as we have,
but it might do the trick.

we could use bugzilla - perhaps setting up a temporary project and then
entering the logos as bugs :-). People can then vote and we could set the
voting rules as we like.

Perhaps an abuse of resources.

Add ant-user as well, IMHO.

You mean must not, yes?

Do you really want to do this manually? Good luck 8-).

Just edit the page to add a "number" column and you are done.

works for me.

I'd prefer a single vote instead of three (you'll want to weight the
votes if you allow three choices) of them, but I could live with your
voting system.

I suggest to have people send their votes to the person who tallies
the votes (or a dedicated voting account) instead of ant-(dev|user).
Peter talked about free web based voting services - has anybody had
some good experience with one of them and could recommend one?

Would a person's vote be weighted or unweighted? I mean, does a person
indicate 'I think the following logos are ok' or 'I like this one best, but
this one is ok too, and the last one would be acceptable'.

[PROPOSAL] Logo voting (was:RE: Logo?)

Hi all!

+1 - We currently have a huge amount of particulary very nice logos, IMHO!

What we need is a "plan" to make the decision!

LOGO VOTING PROPOSAL:
I'd propose, that everyone on the Ant-Dev-MailingList may give 3 votes, for
his/her 3 favorite Logos. One may not give more then one vote for each logo.
One of the comitters (I could offer myself :-)) collects these voting-mails
and counts the votes.

SCHEDULE:
When: What:
ASAP Assign a uniq key (number or something else) to each Logo, to
make a distinct voting possible
July 22nd Start voting
August 5th Stop voting and count votes
August 7th We should have an offical Ant-Logo :-)

What do you all think about this?

Chris
