[jira] Created: (DIRMINA-670) Make ProtocolEncoder/Decoder interfaces typesafe

Make ProtocolEncoder/Decoder interfaces typesafe
------------------------------------------------

                 Key: DIRMINA-670
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRMINA-670
             Project: MINA
          Issue Type: Wish
          Components: Core
    Affects Versions: 2.0.0-M4
            Reporter: Rory Winston
            Priority: Minor

It would be nice to be able to have some type safety in the protocol codec interfaces. For instance, in the ProtocolEncoder interface, a change to something like:

public interface ProtocolEncoder <T> {

    void encode(IoSession session, T message, ProtocolEncoderOutput out)
            throws Exception;
...
}

Would ensure type safety on objects to be encoded.
