In almost all cases, this error falls into one of two areas:
1) Client side - for some reason, the Client has closed the connection. The
server is trying to write the response to the client, but the client is no
longer listening for it.
2) Poorly written ServletFilter doing some strange buffering. You have a
bunch of filters on the Jetty stack so this was an original thought, but they
aren't there on the Weblogic stack. Thus, it's likely #1 somehow.

If your web service calls involve uber-uber-huge SOAP request messages,
yes, memory errors could potentially be kicking in (although it is rare
that SOAP calls get *that* huge). What I would recommend doing is using
Wireshark[1] to trap the SOAP request of a message that raises this
exception, than copy that SOAP request into soapUI and try to replicate
the error.
Once you can replicate it via soapUI, more detective work is needed.
Get that SOAP request to the smallest possible SOAP request that
replicates the error--it could be that it's not the size being the error
but some strange incoming character that is causing the marshalling
error to occur. Or, as Dan wrote, it may be that the web service is
fine, it's always accepting whatever soapUI feeds it but your actual
customer's SOAP client is timing out.
Is it weblogic[2] related? Possibly, as it may use different parsing
libraries than vanilla Tomcat would. Another potential check is to run
your webservice on Tomcat[3] and see if the error repeats there.

Glen

I'd start experimenting here : http://wiki.eclipse.org/Jetty/Howto/Configure_Form_Size

Re: Unknown server error: MarshalException

this error happens if the request object is large , I mean the service method
parameters is a pojo which has a list of other pojos
some thing
if the size of bs is more than 1000 , then the service is sending
marshalexception , but if its lesser than 1000 then no problem , why should
this depend request object size ?

Your server code throws a marshal exception.
Put a breakpoint in a debugger and step it.

Re: Unknown server error: MarshalException

my service method parameter is
my external clients get this error when the auditSearchRequest number is
more than 1000,
they tried calling with 1000 auditSearchRequest it worked
, but when they called with 1700 auditSearchRequest it failed with
this error, please advice me as there is no exception at server side , just
cannot see what is causing this issue.
Please advice me.

Re: Unknown server error: MarshalException

I mean external clients. My external are sending a very big request like
more than 1000 parameters. I did not try that big request so I dont know If
I will be able to recreate it.
in the server side I query database populate the response object also I
use Datahandler ,
so enabled mtom.
Could this be becasue of binary data (as I send several files) or any
data my query returned ?

Re: Unknown server error: MarshalException

You say "when my clients" -- do you mean external clients, or right now
your own (you're doing internal testing) -- because if your clients work
and external ones don't, it's best to look at the SOAP requests
themselves, perhaps using Wireshark, to see what the difference is.
As for the "MarshalException" error, marshalling is the act of pushing
Java bean values into XML to place on the wire back to the client, where
it will be "unmarshalled" back into Java classes. I'm not sure what
you're doing service-side, but there appears to be some conversion
problem that's preventing the XML from being created.
