Using linux 32 bit snapshot version, build 9701, from:
http://people.apache.org/~arielch/developer-snapshots/snapshot/linux_x86/Apache_OpenOffice_4.0.0_Linux_x86_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz
Error:
Read error.
This is not a WinWord 97 file.
Was successfully opened in AOO 3.4.1.

I was able to open the document under Windows 7 with OOo 3.2.1

Under Windows 7 I was not able to open the document with OOo 3.3, OOo 3.4 Beta
and AOO 3.4.1

attachment opens OK in Rev. 1489073 after save as Word 97-2003 in Word 2010.

Ok to all comments. I think I will just close this with INVALID.
I could have inadvertently messed up this local copy -- how I don't know. I
found it again from the original site, and it opened fine with AOO 4.0dev vis a
vis my browser settings, so, sorry for the trouble. Thanks to all of you for
taking a look.

I am not sure, if it is invalid.
It is somehow confusing:
- You can open the file in AOO 3.4.1, but not on current snapshot.
- Keith can not open the file in AOO 3.4.1 and current snapshot.
- I can not open the file in OOo 3.3, OOo 3.4 Beta, AOO 3.4.1 and current
snapshot, but in OOo 3.2
May be something is broken in the type detection.

I came to this issue today per chance. I can open attachment 80788 without any
problem in Word 2003 and StarOffice 8. So I think the file is OK.
