[jira] Created: (MUSE-134) Logging Refactorization

Logging Refactorization
-----------------------

                 Key: MUSE-134
                 URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MUSE-134
             Project: Muse
          Issue Type: Improvement
Components: Utilities - General, QName, and XML
    Affects Versions: 2.1.0
         Environment: OSGi Foundation profile
            Reporter: Joel Hawkins
         Assigned To: Dan Jemiolo
             Fix For: 2.1.0

Muse logging currently rests on the back of the java logging API, which is not supported in the OSGi foundation profile. There is, however, a logging service available within OSGi. We need to appropriately abstract the Muse logging facility such that we can support both the OSGi Foundation Profile and the standard J2SE profile without forking the code base.

Dan Jemiolo commented on MUSE-134:
----------------------------------

This will break the getLog( ) interface for Capabilities. Let's work to design a solution this fall and try to get it into 2.2.
