[jira] [Created] (SPARK-22970) Getting Application ID from Submission ID

Mehmet Uluer created SPARK-22970:
------------------------------------

Summary: Getting Application ID from Submission ID
                 Key: SPARK-22970
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-22970
             Project: Spark
          Issue Type: New Feature
Components: Java API, Spark Submit, Web UI
    Affects Versions: 2.2.1
Environment: linux, java, web ui, rest api, spark stand alone cluster
            Reporter: Mehmet Uluer
            Priority: Blocker

after submitting a driver to spark stand alone cluster, it is not easy to identify its application id [app-id] after the driver state change into running, i've found a way to look for the app-id with using app name from related worker job list or active applications, but it is not easy to ensure app-id if one job submitted in parallel,

ps. in webui it is also hard to track the application releated to the driver, worker id is given instead of app id,
