[jira] Commented: (SHIRO-27) OSGi support
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SHIRO-27?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12765717#action_12765717 ]
Philippe Laflamme commented on SHIRO-27:
----------------------------------------
Without a full-fledged OSGi integration, there are certain things that can be done to make Shiro OSGi-friendly. Namely, creating the manifest for describing the bundle to an OSGi container.
Several tools offer an automated creation of the manifest. For example, Wicket uses the maven-bundle-plugin provided by the apache Felix project. This allows one to deploy Wicket in an OSGi container without to much effort.

> It would be nice to deploy JSecurity as an OSGi bundle, picking up 1 or more Realms from the OSGi discovery service. This allows people to deploy JSecurity as a system wide Service in an application independent manner (for those who use OSGi at least).
