Re[2]: subversion
I asked the same thing less than a week ago... as did around 2290 (last time I checked) users. There are plenty of uses to it and I'm now hardlinking projects just because it is dumb to checkout a whole project into another one for a single file like header one. The only solution is probably - vote for it.

Yeah, mailing lists archives. Long time I didn't beleived it is possible this feature is missing :)
I don't know how much effect this voting system has, but it is a hope at least :). For now, this is (almost) my only problem with svn, everything is great but this issue is driving me nuts and now half of my projects are hardlinked because of it.
As stated somewhere on the site - SVN's goal is not to incorporate all good features from other version control systems, but rather replace CVS. Well, CVS *has* such a feature so I hope it'll show up in SVN too :)

Wasn't aware there was a voting system. Have now voted on 823. Thanks!
Curious - where did you get the 2290 figure? A search on this list? (stupid
me, never thought of that - went reading the Subversion Book looking for
answers instead).
