Actually, it needs to be reworked for JDK 1.3 since there are no chained exceptions in JDK 1.3.  The test can probably be written to test for the JDK version and then modify its assertions accordingly.  In general, nextException stuff should work, but not getCause() style exception chaining.

Apologies for not thinking of this when I wrote the test.  Since this is a new test, we may want to consider just excluding it for JDK 1.3, but I'm not sure about that...
