[jira] Created: (GERONIMO-2846) modified jax-ws calculator sample to work with CXF and Axis2

modified jax-ws calculator sample to work with CXF and Axis2
------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: GERONIMO-2846
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-2846
             Project: Geronimo
          Issue Type: Improvement
      Security Level: public (Regular issues)
          Components: sample apps
    Affects Versions: 2.0-M2
Environment: winxp + sun jsk 1.5
            Reporter: Lin Sun
             Fix For: 2.0

Hi Dims,

Per your request, here's the modified version of the sample.

Current issues:

1) I haven't been able to run the webservice client outside of my eclipse env. Getting CNF error if I ran the client as "java -jar jaxws-calculator-1.0.jar". This could be fixed by providing an ant script or build the java execution into maven's pom.xml.

2) Running the Axis2 CalculatorClient client caused

Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sun.xml.ws.spi.ProviderImpl
	at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)
	at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
	at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source)
	at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
	at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
	at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)
	at javax.xml.ws.spi.FactoryFinder.newInstance(FactoryFinder.java:34)
	... 6 more

I just added this client back in this morning so I probably have missed the dependency for this one. There are so many Axis2 dependencies so if you know which one I need let me know.:)

Running the Axis2 CalculatorClientAxiom client works fine.

Thanks, Lin

check in the current jaxws-calculator sample in case someone wants to work on it (rev 541059( . It was running fine for both CXF and Axis2 one time, but it doesn't deploy with the latest server. Also needs to be updated to the sample template.

I'm willing to commit your patch if you made it to conform to the structure in the samples project :-)

http://cwiki.apache.org/GMOxDOC20/creating-a-new-sample.html.

It's for a good reason. The samples thus created will have a sample's web page containing links to javadoc and source files. The web page can also describe the features and functionalities covered by the sample. This will be a good contribution to our Samples gallery.

Cheers
Prasad

Hi, I am not seeing these two issues with jetty. I am able to get a slightly different sample (jax-ws test) working with both CXF and Axis2. The calculator sample is based on the jax-ws test so I don't expect to see a big issue. I am using Friday's trunk with a few modifications for EJB.

> I just added this client back in this morning so I probably have missed the dependency for this one. There are so many Axis2 dependencies so if you know which one I need let me know.:)
> Running the Axis2 CalculatorClientAxiom client works fine.

> Hi Dims,
> Per your request, here's the modified version of the sample.

Lin Sun updated GERONIMO-2846:
------------------------------

    Attachment: calculator_axis2.zip

Here's an updated version of the calculator sample for axis2. I had to make some change to the sample as described in https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS2-2353.

For the first time, I am able to get the calculatorclient.java end to end flow working:

Retrieving document at 'http://localhost:8080/jaxws-calculator-1.0/calculator?wsdl'.
Sum of 2 and 99 is 101

Sorry hasn't updated this to the sample format yet but thought I should attach the latest zip file so it is stored somewhere other than my machine.:)

Lin Sun closed GERONIMO-2846.
-----------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

This sample has been modified to use the geronimo standard sample template and has a jsp client now (which doesnt need axis2 or cxf specific dependencies).
