Weird mod_perl, mod_proxy, content-length, IE

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: MD5

Running: Apache/1.3.14 (Win32) mod_perl/1.27_01-dev

I've been setting up my first proxy by following the
instructions in the Mod_perl Guide: all seems well,
except that I'm getting a little bit of weird output
in addition to the expected.

This appears in the content body just after the HTTP headers,
as a number which reflects in hex the length of the
returned content, plus a line feed.

There's another number, seemingly always a zero, after
the content.

Funny thing is, I see this from IE6, but not when using
LWP::UserAgents or Mozilla to query the same URI.

Life being what it is, I have to support the 80% of my
clients which are IE.

Has anyone any idea what this is or may be?

The mod_perl app producing the output is fine without
the proxy, so I'm very happy to concede it's my proxy
configuration!

Thanks in anticipation.

Cheers,
lee

I forgot to add that this happens with and without
a call to the send_http_header method.
