[NEWS] CouchDB Weekly News July 03 are ready for feedback

Hi everyone,

as promised, there we go:

Draft – https://couchdbblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=189&action=edit&message=10
Preview – http://couchdbblog.wordpress.com/?p=189&preview=true
GitHub – http://ffffux.github.io/weekly-news.html

Release notes:
- Weekly Meeting – was last week, but left it in because of content relevance
- Major Discussions: also left Fauxton Dashboard and testing BigCouch Mege + Fauxton in
- now added the year to the headlines ("CouchDB Weekly News, July 03, 2014") and will update this in the older posts, too (for SEO + readability + better search)

Best from day 2 of IndieTech Summit in Brighton!

Lena

I like that :). Only one thing: I would change "infrastructur-releated" to
"technical". I don't want to blame "infra" on this too much ...

Last thought: maybe it's a good opportunity to also mention the various
social media channels with an link?

Thanks a lot!

Andy

Ah, thanks. :)

I'm wondering if we should add a small into para that explains why the
news went away for so long and also mentions that some of the stuff
has been repeated from the last news item we did.

Posted by Lena Reinhard <le...@thehoodiefirm.com>.
No, this is not an error.
We haven't promoted the content from june 26 and some of it is still relevant, thus, as written in the release notes, I took a bit of its content over, which was:
- Weekly Meeting (including a note that it was held last week)
- Discussions: Fauxton Dashboard + BigCouch Merge / Futon testing
All other content is new.

There seems to be duplication.

Compare:

http://blog.couchdb.org/2014/07/07/couchdb-weekly-news-july-07-2014/
http://blog.couchdb.org/2014/06/27/couchdb-weekly-news-june-26/

These mostly have the same content. Is this an error?

Ok, left this one out :)
I'll publish the News now.
Social Media: I don't know who of you got access to the CouchDB Social Media channels, still, I myself don't – can anyone post it? :)

(Side note: documentation of the News will be done by next week, I'm adding the social media part, too)

Unless it hasn't been announced somewhere, I'd suggest to skip July, and
have our next meetup in August. Due to the holiday season and the
footballs there would probably be fewer people than usual.

Hi lena,

I have one addition to Events. The next CouchDB Meetup Hamburg will be at
 08. July 19:00 h. Unfortunately, I don't have the confirmation that it
will be again at Ubilabs. So announcing the date would be greate an then a
link the community at G+ (
https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities/103656875572948787245) with
'location will be announced at the G+ community asap' ...

The rest is perfect: +1 :)

Thanks a lot and Cheers

Andy
