Approximate 4.0 timeframe

Hi all,

Is there a rough idea of when 4.0 might be released ? Also, once that happens and 2.1 is no longer supported in the community, does that mean that there will be no fixes made, even for critical security related issues ? Can anybody shed any light on this ?

Thanks for any insights, comments or recommendations.
