[jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-13332) Remove jackson 1.9.13 and switch all jackson code to 2.x code line

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-13332?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15356941#comment-15356941 ]

Steve Loughran commented on HADOOP-13332:
-----------------------------------------

Oddly enough, the 1.9.x code has, by virtue of the fact its not had any updates, the most stable of things. It's the code which depends on 2.x and which has different things upgrading at different rates which is causing all jackson-related stack traces these days.

That doesn't mean this shouldn't be done, only that it wont address jackson version brittleness —merely unify it to one single version

> This jackson 1.9 code line is no longer maintained. Upgrade
> Most changes from jackson 1.9 to 2.x just involve changing the package name.
