Which part of the documentation says this is supported?

Do we want to add this to DTDv2.0? It is not part of the XHTML2 subset we will be moving to, so it may be a mistake to support it now (see http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=forrest-dev&m=107262795814418&w=2 )

You are rigth, I was wrong !
I read my own docs-author local site after updating the dtd...
I confirm that <del> was compliant with XHTML but no more with XHTML2.
