[jira] [Commented] (HADOOP-12554) Swift client to read credentials from a credential provider

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-12554?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15623384#comment-15623384 ]

Larry McCay commented on HADOOP-12554:
--------------------------------------

[~stevel@apache.org] and [~ramtinb] - progress has stalled here.
[~stevel@apache.org] - you previous comment seems to indicate that we need functional tests for this contribution.
Can we get away with just an extension of the Swift configuration testing and extrapolate that out to it working?

Also, when you say credential file do you mean a credential provider store (jceks) or the Hadoop credentials object?
Either of those would work but the latter would require a different provider configuration.

> As HADOOP-12548 is going to do for s3, Swift should be reading credentials, particularly passwords, from a credential provider.
