Have no idea what the problem is, they open instantaneously in Microsoft Office
Excel.  They are relatively large, but not enormous.

Scroll down, try to open any of the "Realtime" data files listed at the bottom.
 Open Office Spreadsheet chokes on them all.  Any of those spreadsheets could
be attached as an example that produces failure.
