[DRAFT] [ANNOUNCE] Apache cTAKES 3.0.0 incubating Released

Below is a draft of the announcement. Open for feedback before we send it out to announce@a.o and general.
Note: the downloads page will be updated once the artifacts hit all of the mirrors.

----

The Apache cTAKES (Incubating) team is pleased to announce the availability of the 3.0.0-incubating release.

Apache clinical Text Analysis and Knowledge Extraction System (cTAKES) is an open-source natural language processing system for information extraction from electronic medical record clinical free-text.

The release can be downloaded from:
http://incubator.apache.org/ctakes/downloads.html

For further information, please visit the project website at
http://incubator.apache.org/ctakes/

The Apache cTAKES Team

Disclaimer:
Apache cTAKES is an effort undergoing incubation at The Apache Software Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator. Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects. While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.

Before you send the official notice we should download from the downloads page and make sure the mirrors are working. I had trouble getting that page to work and as yet it still may not have the proper CGI.

Thanks
Troy

Yes, that would be great if you could copy the -rc7 tag for completeness (and the release process page to document the process for future RM's :)). I'm away from a pc at the moment. Thanks for picking that up...

A side note that the link to the downloads page should be downloads.cgi instead of HTML. I'll be sure to update that before sending out.

Pei,

Was there supposed to be a tags/ctakes-3.0.0-incubating tag automatically created by the build process?
I see the tags/ctakes-3.0.0-incubating-rc7 tag but assumed we would end up with a tags/ctakes-3.0.0-incubating tag.

I'm happy to create one if it should be created manually.

I made a few minor changes to the downloads page. But it should be automatic; the replication normally takes 24hrs.

Hi Pei,

Did you mean that you will update the downloads page once the artifacts hit all of the mirrors or that they will be automatically updated some how?
