Thank you for your suggestion. However, this is only a workaround to our
problem. It is proven to work with Apache 1.3/mod_ssl/RedHat 7.2 and
does exactly what it should - prompt the user at the console startup
screen. 

 

I'm inclined to think this may be an issue with Apache 2.x forward, as
this is the first time this bug has appeared to us. As far as I know,
this is not something we should be experiencing by design (seems like a
pretty weak new "feature") which leads me to believe that this truly is
a bug in the Apache software or a system incompatibility.

 

Has anyone experienced this phenomenon? Does anyone from the Apache
HTTPD Server Project have anything to say regarding this?
