revision history in docbooks using CVS stats

Can I use the CVS log to create my DocBook revision history ? 

I means, I have to edit the revision history source every time I
update some docbook source. How can I automate it using the CVS commit
comments instead of a hand-made comments?

is it possible ? Does it make sense ? :)
