Currently the DoOnConfigThread annotation's retention policy is {{SOURCE}} this means the annotation is discarded by the compiler and not present in the compiled class file. when subsequently used by other compilation units it will no longer be present causing the annotation to not be processed correctly. 

The retention policy should be changed to {{CLASS}} or {{RUNTIME}} to ensure that the correct processing/code generation will be performed on subclasses in other compilation units.
