   IIRC the retryStartup logic is added by @wchevreuil . I can not recall exactly what is goal of adding the abortOnError flag, let's wait for @wchevreuil 's input.
   
   And in general, I think we should have a flag to know that we should quit the initialization, instead of reading the interrupted state, like 'stopped'.
