Appserver and ANT questions

Hello everybody. 

I have two questions about maven usage:

1. How can i know/change the ant version used in
maven.xml (with jelly:ant) ?

2. I'm using appserver:start to start a tomcat server.
Is there any goal to deploy webapps under tomcat or
must i use tomcat ant tasks ?
