UIMA AS 2.3.1 Release Candidate 1

Folks, my first UIMA AS 2.3.1 release candidate is available from:

http://people.apache.org/~cwiklik/releases/uima-as/2.3.1/rc1/<http://people.apache.org/~cwiklik/release-candidates/uima-as/2.3.1/rc1/>

Please install it and report any problems you find.

Thanks, Jerry Cwiklik

I tested with Windows XP + Eclipse 3.5.2 by installing the plugins from the
update site.

It works for me.

I notice that the there isn't a "candidate" for the updated Eclipse update
site. That probably should be part of the set of artifacts offered for checking
:-).

Great work, Jerry !

I've found some issues which I'll write up. Here's a brief summary (just so you
don't work on the same ones):

1) The uima-as-osgi plugin isn't being built correctly (I may have a handle on
this...)
2) The binary and source release builds probably should not attach (in a maven
sense) their artifacts, since that results in these large things being put into
the Maven repo eventually; but we deploy these from the Apache mirroring system
- I think putting them into the Maven repos just wastes space.

Un-attaching them will require doing a small maven antrun of an ant exec task
(because I couldn't find a maven plugin) do the gpg signing (please suggest a
better way if you know of one :-) ).

Cheers - Marshall
