Great ! Many thanks.
I love Cocoon's component architecture :)

AW: [C2][VOTE] Support for Componentized Saxon+Jaxen

Posted by Carsten Ziegeler <cz...@sundn.de>.
I think this a cool feature for 2.1 (as someone said weeks ago,
we must have great features, so people will update from 2.0
to 2.1).
And with respect to the release date: -1

In some situations it's crucial. Eg, we have a product which needs Xalan
2.0.d7. If I try to run Cocoon 1 with this xalan, it crashes the VM. In
that situation, I was able to work around the problem by having Cocoon
use Saxon instead.

Ie, speed isn't the only issue to consider.

Just curious, what (if any) is the performance gain of using saxon?

I did not used Saxon, but think that diversity in XSLT transofrmers would not hurt,
so here is my +0.5

AW: [C2][VOTE] Support for Componentized Saxon+Jaxen

Posted by Carsten Ziegeler <cz...@sundn.de>.
Hi Team,

let's start a vote, if we want Saxon support in C2.0 final
or if we leave that to C2.1.
I'm +0 on this as I don't know how important Saxon support
is.

Yes, that's why I also -1 for RC1, but we all have to know this means
some components won't work with Saxon (or more precisely without the
Xalan XPathAPI)

So +1 for C2.0 RC2, if there's one before C2.0 final.
