Just wanted to mention that in LibreOffice Calc 6.2.0.3 on OS X in March 2019
still exhibits this behavior: if you select a *single* cell, copy it, and paste
it anywhere, it will have a superfluous newline at the end, despite there being
no such character in the original data.
This causes particular issues with inter-operability with Google Sheets, which
inserts a literal newline character into a cell that is pasted in such a way,
rather than interpreting the newline as meaning "move to next cell."
