webdav problems or limitations

Hi,

I would like to use the webdav feature in tomcat so as to connect the
linux directory as a web drive in my computer. However, i only can edit
the html files using frontpage in the webdav drive. How can i edit the
html files by other tools (e.g. dreamweaver)?  Besides, is there a way
to directly edit the jsp and java file ?
