+and Apache Software Foundation (ASF) Board approved it and appointed him as Vice President for Apache ORC on September 21st.

+William has been leading many areas.
+He helped Apache ORC PMC add a new member,
+served as a release manager for 1.7.4/1.7.5/1.7.6/1.8.0,
+made an important contribution on inter-ASF project collaboration and ORC integration across several projects to help all ORC users,
+improved ORC infra like ASF ORC DockerHub Setup, docker tests, and GitHub Action,
+and revamped user experiences through updating websites and Homebrew.
