service returns custom types

Hello Axis-Users,
I am currently having two services: One returns a stirng and the other
service returns a custom type.
I am aslo using handlers for encryption/decryption of the request and
response for both services.
Everything works okay for the service returns a string and all the
security is done.
But for the custom type  I got a null object back, without any "bad"
messages during encryption and decryption.
The question is do handlers affect the returning of custom types and
does any additional configuration has to be done.
Has anyone come up with this problem.

Any help or insight into this problem would be appreciated.
