I'm not sure whether this is a bug in the server or
in the browsers. Basic Authentication is not working
reliably with the AOL and MSIE browsers at the 'Wer
liefert was?' site (1st URL below), which uses the
Apache server. But it does seem to work correctly
with those browsers at the AMP site (2nd URL),
which uses the Netscape server. While those two
browsers are known to be buggy with Basic Authenti-
cation, I'm surprised to see it working better with
a Netscape server.
