Re: Drill at search-hadoop.com

Posted by Jason Altekruse <al...@gmail.com>.
Just posted a new version of the site with a search box that uses the
default orderings. As the query sends them to the page with the more
complete form to limit their search anyway, I'll keep the interface on the
homepage minimal.

Re: Drill at search-hadoop.com

Ah, that search box. It's just a regular HTML form, no magic.
But to limit search to Drill only note what the URL looks like:

* all Drill stuff ordered by default (= time when nothing else is
specified) - http://www.search-hadoop.com/?q=&fc_project=Drill
* query for LOGS with default sort (= relevance with a bit of
freshness bias when nothing else is specified) -
http://www.search-hadoop.com/?q=LOGS&fc_project=Drill
* you can try different options for sort in the UI to figure out
parameter names if you want different sorting somewhere

Hi,

I don't see a search box on
http://incubator.apache.org/drill/index.html but I may be looking at
the wrong place.
As far as search is concerned, it doesn't matter which page originated
the search.

I can embed a search box inside of the new project homepage I just posted.
Would there be any need to modify the form shown on the page? Is anything
down with search boxes embedded in other pages to indicate where the users
made their search?

Hi Ted & Co.,

There must be an easy way because other projects have done it -
Hadoop, ZK, HBase, Mahout, Lucene/Solr, Nutch, etc. and I think some
of them do use Apache's CMS.
But don't ask me how to do it with CMS, I don't know. :(
