trunk date

seems old with that date ?

i have maybe just missed it in just use patches in lib dir from first 
release 4.0.0 to trunk 4.0.0 ?

i am just happy to now know how to patch with gentoo 
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki//etc/portage/patches

if 4.0.1 came soon it would not be needed to learn more :)

I believe if you read the build/README there is instructions about how the
date is pulled for a release version.
