handle return null value

my axis 2 web service return null

return soap is:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope"><soapenv:Body><ns:getMyResponse xmlns:ns="http://ws.fr.com"><ns:return xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:nil="true" /></ns:getMyResponse></soapenv:Body></soapenv:Envelope>

my client code :

if(res.get_return()==null) gives false ?
how can i check if webservice returned null ?
