[jira] [Created] (ACCUMULO-1648) investigate -XX:-OmitStackTraceInFastThrow

Eric Newton created ACCUMULO-1648:
-------------------------------------

             Summary: investigate -XX:-OmitStackTraceInFastThrow
                 Key: ACCUMULO-1648
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-1648
             Project: Accumulo
          Issue Type: Task
          Components: master, tserver
            Reporter: Eric Newton
            Assignee: Eric Newton
            Priority: Critical
             Fix For: 1.6.0

On a long-running tserver, I saw an NPE in continueMultiscan, however the stack trace for the NPE was missing. This made it nearly impossible to determine where the problem was occuring.

Apparently this is a [known behavior|http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2411487/nullpointerexception-in-java-with-no-stacktrace] with the Oracle JVM.
