[jira] Commented: (LEGAL-21) Geronimo mysql-roller-plugin

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LEGAL-21?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12615399#action_12615399 ]

Henri Yandell commented on LEGAL-21:
------------------------------------

Agreed that this is a use case we want to allow. Anyone wanting to use this would have already agreed to MySQL, or to supporting MySQL.

This wouldn't include containing the mysql jar in the download, just the linking.

Questions:

a) Do we need to say anything on resolved.html?

"Qn. Can I depend on a MySQL exception licensed work, but not ship it?"
"Ans. Yes"

b) if MySQL was purely GPL, would we be saying the same thing? ie) should we be generalizing to GPL?

> David Jencks asks:
> * Can we have a Geronimo mysql-roller-plugin? It would allow Roller to run on Geronimo on top of the MySQL database. By default Derby would be used, but this option would allow users to choose MySQL instead. It would use Tranql, which has two classes importing MySQL classes.
