1.6 is dead. Long live 1.6 (aka post 1.6.0)

Hello team,

as you may have seen 1.6.0 is out for votes.

All the issues that where scheduled for 1.6 (aka 1.6.0) and that didn't
make in time, have now been scheduled for 1.8 AND 1.6.1 so that we don't
loose the backport aspect.

This is exactly the same flow we adopted for any previous release.
