java F2F

Dear all,

Rob and I are thinking about organizing a java F2F for discussing AMQP
0.10 support.
Rob would host this event in his Glasgow office. Rob could you propose
some dates?

Thanks

Arnaud

Re: java F2F

Hello,

So the result of the poll is:
- We have found two possible weeks: w36 and w37.
- We are 4 persons really wanting to attend the meeting i.e. Martin,
Rob, Rajith and me.
- Gordon and Paul may join us depending and their availability and other
external factors.

Conclusion:
We now need to decide of a date and I would suggest that Rob make the
choice as he is inviting us in Glasgow. Rob can you come with a date?

Thanks

How is the Tuesday to Thursday inclusive on week 34 (21st - 23rd
August) for everybody?

Yes - I think 3 days should be sufficient...

I would like the F2F to be as early as possible...

Given this, which 3 days would be best for you Martin?

The reason I blocked out weeks 3 & 4 is that I may be away for a long
weekend over the middle week. However those weeks would be fine with
me otherwise. I don't imagine the F2F will last a whole week, I could
be wrong.

Hopefully we can try to find a date convenient for everybody.

Hi Paul,

I meant convenient for Gordon :-)

(our mails crossed I believe)

In total I think there are at least four people based in or around
Glasgow who will likely attend... which means it's likely the lowest
aggregate cost location. I know others would have to fly in from
Switzerland (Arnaud), Canada (Rajith) and possibly from the Boston
area...

I *should* be able to get a room in the offices I work in if we agree
on numbers of attendees and dates early enough.

Cheers,
Rob

Well that all depends on the Flybe fares from Southampton for the days
you pick. My brother lives outside Glasgow, so if there's a cheap
flight then its fairly easy for me.

Likewise, if its in the UK and its handy to me I'd be tempted to pop
in, but I don't want to influence any times/dates.

Depending on location and agenda I might come and listen in. However
that shouldn't influence the choice of dates (and I think I can make any
of those suggested anyway).

Re: java F2F

Posted by Arnaud Simon <as...@redhat.com>.
This brings us to August.
I have created a poll @ http://www.doodle.ch/dpJE5UvAC45Q
The idea is to find one or two weeks that would be convenient for
everybody. Once we have agreed on (a) week(s) we will set the meeting
date. So, please can you answer the poll having in mind that a week is
convenient if you can allow two consecutive days for the F2F. As the F2F
would likely be organized in the UK you may also add additional
traveling day(s).
May I ask to everybody that would like to attend the Qpid Java F2F to
answer the poll even if none of the listed week is convenient. The idea
is not only to find a convenient week bu also to find out who is
interested.

Many thanks

Arnaud

A couple of people have been mailing me privately, we need to work
out good dates... however it's somewhat dependent on when the various
AMQP group F2F's happen since a lot of the same people will be
involved. Once we've got the AMQP stuff sorted we can schedule the
Qpid Java F2F.

It would, however, be good to know people's availability in June.
