4.14 install highish error rate
Hi,
While we've not made an official announcement yet users are downloading the 4.14 and we seeing a highish error rate (at around 45% from 600 installs over the last 3 days). The OSMF download seems to be failing at a higher rate than usual, as is unable to get apache-flex-sdk-installer-config.xml. Some of the other common errors (eg windows temporary directory) are ones that have been fixed but unreleased in the installer.
What (if any thing) should we do about this?
Re the apache-flex-sdk-installer-config.xml is there any reason we're using https rater than http? It been mentioned before and that may contribute to the high error rate?
Thanks,
Justin

Inside that folder is an installer.log, can you post the contents to the mailing list.
Thanks,
Justin

I am in Canada. I get all the little progress squares lit up green except
the last one, and that one goes red and I have failed again. But the folder
I specified is chock-full of Flex, so I don't know if I am done and the
installer is failing, or there is one last thing to get...

Don't think we're using the mirror for that file? HTTPS could fail when HTTP works for a number of reasons and it the only https call we make (as far as I'm aware).
Looking at the OSMF issue in a little more detail it looks to be location related with 75% of the errors occurring in Russia. Anyone confirm?
Thanks,
Justin

Distribution of software should be done over secure channels.
I can't see any reason why HTTPS over HTTP would contribute to a high
install error rate, when the issue is the Apache mirrors being broken ?
