extract saml token from soap header

Hello all,

what is the best way to extract a saml token from a soap header. I tried to do that in a handler. With msgContext.getEnvelope().getHeader(); I can get the header. Then I get the child elements with "getChildElements". Now the problem is that I have OMElements, but for processing the assertion with opensaml I need DOM elements. In earlier versions of Axis2 there was a method toDOM() in the Axis2Util. But that seems to have disappeared.
How can I do that now?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Manuel
