How to set Welcome First file ?

Hi ,
I have installed jakarta-tomcat-3.2.1 . I have my web applications running correctly.
I want my welcome file to be other than index.jsp,index.html,index.htm. I edited 
appropriately web.xml file from TOMCAT_HOME\conf to some blabla.jsp.
Now problem is, my index page doesnt seem to be redirected to this blabla.jsp.
What can be the other settings or the file I selected is wrong ?
