           Summary: Chainsaw Client socket
           Product: Log4j
           Version: 1.3alpha
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P2
         Component: chainsaw
        AssignedTo: log4j-dev@logging.apache.org
        ReportedBy: brill@pappin.ca
                CC: brill@pappin.ca

There doesn't seem to be any way to create a client socket for connection to a
remote appender, such as a SocketHubAppender.

It would be nice if Chainsaw could connect to an already running node in order
to receive events there where distributed by that node.

I don't know about anyone else, but Chainsaw is pretty much useless to me, if it
can't do that.

I am willing to implement this feature is no one else wants to do it.
