[jira] [Commented] (LUCENE-9020) Find a way to publish Solr RefGuide without checking into git

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-9020?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16956803#comment-16956803 ]

Jan Høydahl commented on LUCENE-9020:
-------------------------------------

Why don't we try to find an external (free) hosted Asciidoc service somewhere to host our refGuide. Perhaps they even provide search for us? Since we'll not treat the RefGuide as a signed release anymore, like we did with the PDF, there should be no requirement to keep the docs on ASF infrastructure?

Something like [readthedocs|https://readthedocs.org/] but I think they don't support asciidoc that well. Any suggestions?

> Currently we check in all versions of RefGuide (hundreds of small html files) into svn to publish as part of the site. With new site we should find a smoother way to do this.
