[jira] [Commented] (KNOX-343) Knox PID directory does not exists on Ubuntu after reboot

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KNOX-343?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14503470#comment-14503470 ]

Kevin Minder commented on KNOX-343:
-----------------------------------

The Apache Knox release does not dictate where the logs or pids directories end up. If these are linked to /var/run on Ubuntu that must have occurred in a down stream repackaging of Knox.

> Unable to start Knox after Ubuntu reboot.
> # su -l knox -c "/usr/lib/knox/bin/gateway.sh start"
> Directory /usr/lib/knox/pids does not exist.
> /var/run on Ubuntu is a symlink to /run directory which is tmpfs and cleans on each reboot
