Accounting Observation

In the UK and I guess a lot of other places too, it's common to express
negative numbers in brackets for accounting purposes, i.e.

+10 = 10
-10 = (10)

Has anyone looked at this before?

Btw, that's the way it's done in the default shipping options screen  
as well - whenever there's an error.
