Announcing Early Access for JSPTL
Jakarta-taglibs developers,
As most of you probably know, the JSR-052 expert group will be hosting the
reference implementation (RI) of the standard JSP Tag Library (JSPTL) on
jakarta-taglibs. The JSPTL specification is not yet finished, but the
group has opted to use an Early Access (EA) program to get our work out to
the community as quickly as possible.
The RI for our first Early Access release was finished late last week.
It's now available, thanks to Glenn's superb release-engineering, from the
jakarta-taglibs site. Go to
http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/doc/ jsptl-doc/intro.html
to see the JSPTL intro page, from which you can browse the documentation
and download the source.
Of course, all comments from jakarta-taglibs developers will be extremely
valuable as the expert group continues its work. Also, if anyone here has
any comments on the particulars of the RI itself, that would be valued
too. Many members of the expert group stay current with this mailing
list, so it's a good place to raise discussion of general issues related
to JSPTL. If you want to contact the JSR-052 expert group privately, you
can mail jsr052-comments@sun.com.
Many thanks,
Shawn
[ PS - I'll be mailing our -user list, and the Struts community,
separately to give them more background on JSPTL. Apologies for those
of you who see multiple announcements. ]

Sorry, the URL I posted got mangled. The correct URL for the JSPTL intro
page is
http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/doc/jsptl-doc/intro.html
