JWS & Axis Client Jars [was:has anyone ever build a lightweight client with axis ?]

For reference, we are deploying an Axius client over
Java WebStart and the initial download is somewhat
heavy, but after that, these jars never change, so it
gets snappy. Here's the list:

		<jar href="support/axis.jar"/>
		<jar href="support/jbcl.jar"/>
		<jar href="support/xerces.jar"/>
		<jar href="support/log4j-1.2.7.jar"/>
		<jar href="support/jaxrpc.jar"/>
		<jar href="support/commons-collections-2.0.jar"/>
		<jar href="support/commons-discovery.jar"/>
		<jar href="support/commons-logging.jar"/>
		<jar href="support/servlet.jar"/>
		<jar href="support/saaj.jar"/>

allowedMethods parameters problems

Posted by Xavier Delplanque <xa...@bull.net>.
Hi all,

We're trying to deploy EJBs as Web Services on AXIS 1.0. If the
allowedMethods Parameters is set to *, we'll get on "And now... Some
Services" page for our service this following methods list :

    * HelloBeanServiceEmb (wsdl)
          o hello
          o remove
          o getEJBLocalHome
          o getPrimaryKey
	  o isIdentical

So it seems that we have methods not specified in our service interface
:

public interface HelloLocal extends EJBLocalObject {
    public String hello();
}

that's the first problem, the second one occurs when we want to view the
wsdl file generated by AXIS :

AXIS error

Sorry, something seems to have gone wrong... here are the details:

Fault - WSDLException: faultCode=OTHER_ERROR: Can't find prefix for
'http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema'. Namespace prefixes must be set on
the Definition object using the addNamespace(...) method.:

AxisFault
 faultCode: {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}Server.userException
 faultString: WSDLException: faultCode=OTHER_ERROR: Can't find prefix
for 'http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema'. Namespace prefixes must be set
on the Definition object using the addNamespace(...) method.:
 faultActor: null
 faultDetail:
	stackTrace: WSDLException: faultCode=OTHER_ERROR: Can't find prefix for
'http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema'. Namespace prefixes must be set on
the Definition object using the addNamespace(...) method.:
....

here is the WSDD file we are using :

<deployment xmlns="http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/"
            xmlns:java="http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/providers/java">
     <service name="HelloBeanServiceEmb" provider="java:EJB">
        <parameter name="beanJndiName" 		value="HelloHomeHome_L"/>
          <parameter name="homeInterfaceName"
value="org.objectweb.axis.embedded.helloBean.HelloLocalHome"/>
          <parameter name="remoteInterfaceName"
value="org.objectweb.axis.embedded.helloBean.HelloLocal"/>
        <parameter name="jndiURL" 			value="rmi://localhost:2003"/>
        <parameter name="allowedMethods" 		value="*"/>
        <parameter name="jndiContextClass"
value="com.sun.jndi.rmi.registry.RegistryContextFactory"/>
    </service>
</deployment>

best regards

Xavier

If I remember correctly, the Axis client dependancy on servlet.jar was
fixed recently.

You may be able to drop that one from the list.
