Spring 3.0, CXF 2.2.6-SNAPSHOT, Websphere 6.1 - valid combo?
I'm just trying to jump in with zero experience with CXF on websphere
and keep getting a java.lang.VerifyError when Spring tries to
instantiate org.apache.cxf.wsdl11.WSDLManagerImpl during a ?wsdl
request.
I've tried putting some of the jars into the ext-folder as prescribed,
but nothing has helped.
So I thought I would just check here to see if anybody knows whether it
can be done at all?
/Christian

Spring 2.5.6.SEC01 + latest official release works at WAS6.1 FP27.
I had to update wsld4j though, by creating a parent-first classloader to
the server which loads this shared library.
Also have a look at the latest FP29 where you get an option to deactivate
the incorporated JAX-WS engine within WAS itself.

Ok - got past this problem by starting from scratch with with
EAR-project etc. and adding the jars one at a time.
Some of my other jars was causing this - haven't figured out which one
yet, though

The specific combo is not the problem.
I have tried with CXF 2.5.5 with Spring 2.5.5 and tried with wsdl4j,
saaj, jaxp in varius class loader possibilities.
I keep getting:
...
Caused by: org.springframework.beans.BeanInstantiationException: Could
not instantiate bean class [org.apache.cxf.wsdl11.WSDLManagerImpl]:
Constructor threw exception; nested exception is
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:

There are some new notes about WebSphere up on the page:
http://cxf.apache.org/docs/deployment.html
They may just apply to the latest WebSphere versions though.

It can:
1. create a shared library, containing the wsdl4j version that cxf depends
on
2. create a classloader at the appserver level, important: this has to be
"parent last" mode
3. let the newly created classloader load the newly created shared library
4. restart the appserver and enjoy.
Cheers
